Privacy Policy

Bandmates is a small, private tool built and operated by KBOWDRUMS for individual bands to manage their song library, setlists, and gig calendar. It's not a general-purpose or public service — access to any band's workspace is by invitation from that band's own admin.

What we collect

When you're invited to a band, your account can include:

• Your name, email address, and a password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text)
• Optional profile details you choose to add: phone number, instrument(s), a display color, and tuning preference
• Content you or your bandmates create: songs, setlists, gigs, and calendar availability

SMS text notifications

Bandmates can send you a text message when a gig you'd be affected by is added, changed, or canceled. This is off by default — it only happens if you explicitly turn on "Receive SMS notifications" on your Profile page and provide a phone number. Text messages are sent through Twilio, our SMS delivery provider; your phone number is used only to send you these notifications and is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for marketing.

You can stop text notifications at any time by turning the toggle back off on your Profile page, or by removing your phone number.

How your information is used

Your information is used solely to operate Bandmates for your band: showing you your band's songs, setlists, and calendar, sending you the notifications you've opted into, and letting your band's admin manage membership. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

We do share data with the outside services that make Bandmates work:

• Twilio — delivers opt-in SMS notifications
• Resend — delivers invitation and notification emails
• Supabase and Vercel — host the app and its database

Each only receives what it needs to perform that specific job.

Data retention and deletion

Your account and its data are kept for as long as you're a member of a band on Bandmates. A band's admin can remove a member at any time, which revokes that person's access. If you'd like your account and personal data fully deleted, contact bandmates@kbowdrums.com.

Children's privacy

Bandmates is not directed at, or intended for use by, children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
